A. C. Flora makes Newsweek's list of America's best high schools

Contributed by A. C. Flora High School

Newsweek magazine has ranked A.C. Flora High School on its list of the top five percent of public high schools in America.

Flora is one of 21 South Carolina high schools included on the 2008 Newsweek/Washington P ost

"Challenge Index," an annual survey that measures rigorous course offerings and how all students perform in those classes.

Of the 1,358 public high schools on this year's list, Flora was ranked 808th.

Due to an error, Flora was left off of the initial list of America's best high schools when it was released about two weeks ago.

The error was discovered when Flora Principal NRiecwhsawrdee kMcClure asked to recheck its assessments.
