West Columbia Short Stop Chance Farr makes a play at second against Lexington Center Fielder Desmond Kennedy in West Columbia's 7-6 loss to Lexington. West Columbia needed to win their last game July 3 against Lexington Post 7 to make the playoffs.

Lexington Post 7 7
West Columbia 6

Lexington started the scoring in the second with three runs on four hits and an error. West Columbia answered with three runs of their own in the third with only one hit but two fielding errors by Lexington. Post 7 took the lead again in the fourth with another run. West Columbia tied it again in the fifth.

Post 7 loaded the bases in the seventh inning after intentionally walking left fielder Nick McKlosky who was 2- for- 2 up to that point with a double, a single and two RBIs. Walking McKlosky and loading the bases for the catcher, Steven Griggs turned out to be a bad idea as Griggs took a 2- 1 pitch to left center for a stand up double, just a few feet short of a grand slam home run.

In the eighth, Lexington fired back, scoring two more with the help of a couple of errors from West Columbia. With the game tied at six, Lexington scored one more run for which West Columbia had no answer. The game ended with Lexington on top 7- 6.
