Mimi Maddock, executive editor of The Columbia Star, and Linda Sosbee, financial manager, accept a certificate of appreciation and a carved stone from Afghanistan from (l) John Bozard, J8 resource manager, and Butch Jacobs, director of the Counterinsurgency Academy, of the 218th Brigade Combat Team South Carolina National Guard and representing the Department of Defense Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix VI Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan. The two men are appreciative of all the support the S.C. National Guard has received from the people of Columbia.
