      Richland Post 6 had four hits and three walks in the top of the first inning, accounting for six runs and a comfortable working margin for the remainder of the game against Columbia Northeast. The six- run first inning was the second in a row for Richland against Post 182 this summer. Alston James pitched eight solid innings, only giving up multiple runs in an inning once.

Columbia NE wins by forfeit

      The Monday game which began at Spring Valley between Columbia NE and Lexington was cancelled due to bad weather. Another game was scheduled for Tuesday night; however, Lexington did not show up probably because of the price of gas and driving back to Spring Valley. The game was scored 1- 0 in favor of Columbia NE.

Playoff hopes die for West Columbia Post 79

      West Columbia needed to win their last game July 3 against Lexington Post 7 to make the playoffs. Lexington started the scoring in the second with three runs on four hits and an error. West Columbia answered with three runs of their own in the third with only one hit but two fielding errors by Lexington. Post 7 took the lead again in the fourth with another run.
