Thirty- something speaks
The tooth fairy deserves a night off
      In today's hectic work environment where we're constantly bombarded by information, cell phone calls, and multiple duties, it's understandable if we forget a task or two. I know I've been on the drive home more than once when I realized I'd forgotten to call this guy or get something done I was supposed to do two weeks ago. Stuff like that happens.

      This is a true story of self- embarrassment. My good friend, Hugh Munn, then a spokesman for SLED, was riding with me in my Lexington County Sheriff's car. We planned to visit Johnny Evans, media spokesman for Wildlife, who had just gotten a heart valve replacement. His own valve was replaced with a pig valve.

Conversation without commitment
      The story referenced Older Americans , people between the ages of 45 and 54. For those of us who saw 54 in the rear view mirror a while back the reference is startling. We think of ourselves as middle age, young middle age. These older Americans are the fastest growing group of people who send text messages.

      I read Warner Montgomery's recent editorial and feel it is him who "just don't get it." Let me educate you, since you seem to have an insecurity about your intellect that you feel you must attach the letters "Ph.D." after the listing of your name as Publisher on page 2.
