Mary Bridget West Groome, 48, passed away June 28, 2008 in Tampa, Florida. Her bright personality, bravery, and positive attitude were visible during even the worst of times during her five- year battle against cancer. She was a dedicated wife and mother, putting family above all else.

Bridget was enchanted by and drawn to the beauty of nature, enjoying activities such as fishing, diving, riding horses, and exploring. She had a way about her that was so gentle and soft, even when performing the most difficult of tasks. Her infectious laugh, natural curiosity, adventurous spirit, and her ability to make the simplest of things beautiful will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Bridget is survived by her husband of 28 years, Nelson Smith Groome III, Tampa, Fla; son Nelson Smith Groome IV, Venice, Fla; daughter Mariah Lee Groome, Sarasota, Fla; mother Frances G. West, Gulf Shores, Ala; brothers: Richard O. West, Wilmington, N.C.; Harold J. West, Dunedin, Fla.; and Dana L. West, Sarasota, Fla; and six nieces and nephews.

Time flies, love stays. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
