This is the 25th anniversary of the Irish Children's program in Columbia. On Sunday June 29 at Cardinal Newman's cafeteria, the room was abuzz filled with the chatter of children and their sponsor families. The purpose of the program is to break down religious barriers and help the children make friends they may not be able to make back home. More ... At their end of the year meeting, Brownie Troop 1168 presented Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D) a check for $600. The funds raised by the girls allows a student in the Midlands, who can't afford an RFB&D membership and necessary equipment needed to access the audiobooks recorded by RFB&D volunteers, to have equal access to the printed page.
