• Never leave your pet in a vehicle even with the windows cracked and in the shade. It is illegal and will cost you $257.50.

• When your pets are outside, make sure they are able to get out of the sun and have shady places to relax. All pets must have access to shelter 24/7.

• Make sure your pets have plenty of water.

• With the warmer weather comes fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. Make sure your pet is protected against heartworms, fleas, ticks, and other interior and exterior parasites.

• If you exercise your pet, walk early or late in the day. Exercising mid- day can bring heat exhaustion.

• If your pet experiences health problems, consult your veterinarian as soon as possible.

• Don't forget to license your pet with animal control. If you are looking for a new pet, please adopt from your local shelter.
