Columbia Northeast continued its hot play winning its fourth straight with a 14- 2 drubbing of West Columbia Monday, June 16 at Spring Valley High School.

West Columbia jumped out to a 2- 0 lead in the first inning after sacrifice fly from Ryan Burt and a single Lucas Knight scored Zack Sharpe and Luke Beasley respectively.

After that, Columbia Northeast pitcher Matt Nodelman slammed the door shut. No more than three West Columbia batters came to the plate in five of the six remaining innings. Nick McKlosky reached on an error allowing four batters in the fifth inning. Knight's first inning single was the only hit allowed by Nodelman.

Columbia Northeast scored one run in the third inning, three in the fourth, four in the fifth, and six in the sixth inning. The game was stopped at the conclusion of the seventh inning.

He also scored three runs. Cam White was 3- for- 4 with a home run and two runs scored. Andrew Hill went 2- for- 3. Price and Will Taylor each had two hits as well. Price scored twice and Taylor once.

With the four straight wins, Columbia Northeast bolts from last place to fourth place. Two of the next three games for Columbia Northeast are against league leading Irmo (June 18) and Richland (June 23).
