      Roll call City council convened around 9 am Wednesday, June 11, on the third floor of City Hall. Council member E.W. Cromartie was absent, and council members Anne Sinclair and Tameika Isaac Devine had to depart at 9:35, leaving four members: Daniel Rickenmann, Sam Davis, Mayor Bob Coble, and Kirkman Finlay III.

Who is the second worst mayor in the U.S.?

      In a talk to the Columbia Torch Club June 10, Rusty DePass stated, "The second worst mayor in the U.S. is Bob Coble. Ray Nagin of New Orleans is number one." This was in reference to the state of commercial real estate in Columbia in which the mayor and council have watched as a number of large corporations, lead by SCANA, have left downtown.
