      Despite outhitting the visiting Richland Post 6 Pathfinders 12- 6, Columbia Northeast fell 8- 7 in American Legion baseball play Friday, May 30 at Spring Valley High School. Columbia Northeast started the scoring in the bottom half of the first inning with two straight singles from Rick Davis and Blaine Walker.

Falcons repeat as champions
      The A.C. Flora Falcon golf team won its second consecutive class 3A state championship on May 13, 2008 with a score of 602, eight strokes better than second place Hilton Head.The tournament was held at Quail Creek Golf Course in Myrtle Beach.Thomas Bradshaw led the Falcons with a two- day score of 143 which earned him the individual state championship by one stroke.
