Three Hammond students save 10 animals from death

      Usually seventh graders want gift cards or money for their 13th birthday, but three teenagers were willing to donate their birthday wishes to a local non- profit animal rescue. Seventh graders Mary Ashley Reeves, Elizabeth Buckner, and Lizzie Francis, students at Hammond School, sent out 99 invitations for their birthday party to the seventh grade class.

Six Richland one students named 2008 National Merit Scholars winners

      Six Richland One students have been named winners in the college sponsored 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program. Colleges and universities across the nation provide scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 annually (for up to four years) to National Merit Scholarship finalists who plan to attend their institutions.
