Students earn $7,856 in the Stock Market
      Isaac Johnson, Re'Kita McDowell, Dasean McMillian, Tia Barnes and Destini Dorsey from the Midlands Math and Business Academy were honored earlier this month at the S.C. Council on Economic Education's annual awards luncheon. The students took home trophies for their second place finish in the S.C. Stock Market Game.

Heathwood Hall fourth graders place second in nation
      A team of students representing Heathwood Hall Episcopal School recently won highest honors in the WordMasters Challenge - a national analogy competition entered by more than 230,000 annually. Heathwood Hall's fourth graders placed second in the nation in the year- end cumulative standings among 772 school teams participating at that level and division.

Students go paperless at RNE
      Science teacher Amber Caicedo was the grand prize winner of Richland Northeast High School's Go Green Paperless Classroom instruction day competition. Her class appeared on WLTX demonstrating physics labs with students using computers to capture and analyze data, in addition to having students engage in an interactive review of curriculum using the Senteo clicker system.
