2008 Ambassador of the Year
The Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce has named William C. "Bill" Boyd as its 2008 Ambassador of the Year.
Boyd, a lifetime resident of Columbia, epitomizes all the characteristics necessary to beome an ambassador by serving on many boards, being active in his community, and believing in the region. He is the chair- elect of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of directors of the Business and Industry Political Education Committee (BIPEC) and the executive committee of the Midlands Business Leadership Group.
Boyd has been named for more than a decade as one of The Best Lawyers in America ®. He was also included in
the 2008 South Carolina Super
Lawyers™ magazine for Business/ Corporate. From 1995 to 2000, he served as the managing director of Sinkler & Boyd, P.A. Boyd chairs the Waterfront Steering Team promoting InnoVista.
The Ambassador of the Year is a continuing program of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce since 1970. Past Ambassadors include Lee Bussell of Chernoff Newman, Cathy Novinger of Novinger QTR, Dr. Andrew Sorensen of USC and Mayor Bob Coble.
