New Wildlife Camp allows children to explore nature hands on

Contributed by Carolina Wildlife

Camp WILD Things is a new summer program designed for kids who love the outdoors and all of the creeping, crawling, and flying things that live there. Children ages 6-11 discover the wonders of the natural world and have fun doing it by integrating live animals with a "hands- on" component.

Campers will delve into the world of South Carolina's natural habitats and the creatures that call them home. They explore their own roles in taking care of the environment through games, crafts, and personal encounters with live wildlife ambassadors.

Camp WILD Things is designed to be age appropriate and certified teachers serve as nature guides making the most of the camper's learning experience. Campers will design a habitat for a wild animal at the center and care for that animal during camp. By the end of the week, children gain a new found respect for the environment and the wildlife living in their own backyards.
