S.C. Council for Exceptional Children honors student and administrator
Marilyn Davis, the S.C. Council for Exceptional Children's 2008 Advocate of the Year Richland One student and a district administrator were honored during the S.C. Council for Exceptional Children's Professional Development Conference held February 28- March 1 in Spartanburg.
Chelsey Elliott, a student in Chef Dwaine Collier's culinary arts II class at Heyward Career and Technology Center, was awarded the Betty Brown Training Grant. Chelsey is a senior at A.C. Flora High School. She plans to attend Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC.
Marilyn Davis, Richland One's executive director for special education, was named the South Carolina Council for Exceptional Children's 2008 Advocate of the Year. The prestigious award is given to honor an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of exceptional children and youth.
