Nominations Sought for Lucy Hampton Bostick Award

      The Friends of the Richland County Public Library are seeking nominations for the Lucy Hampton Bostick Award. The annual award, which includes a medal and a cash honorarium, recognizes a South Carolina author, someone who has written a significant literary work on South Carolina or someone in the Midlands who has advanced interest in books or libraries.

      The USC Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met this month at the S.C. State Museum. Stories of great women in American history were shared in honor of Women's History Month. Mary Cruce gave a report on American interests in Africa. Four new members were accepted into the chapter.

Cardinal Newman holds annual auction

      The Zone at Williams Brice Stadium was abuzz with activity Saturday evening, March 15 for the Cardinal Newman School's 12th Annual Auction. It was a nasty stormy night as Auction Chair Cindy Touma and her team of volunteers busied themselves with last minute details. Wonderful smells filled the room.
