Photo by Anne Kathryn Flanagan Ben Lippen's Meritt Rollins signs to play soccer with Western Carolina. She is joined by her mother and father, Thomas and Sally Rollins. Ben Lippen girls' soccer stand- out Meritt Rollins is headed to Western Carolina. She went to soccer camps at WCU in July of 2006 and 2007 and had an unofficial visit in February of 2007. Rollins received interest from three schools but verbally committed to the Catamounts last August. She had an official visit in October.

Rollins was voted most valuable offensive player on Ben Lippen's team from 2004 (as an eigth grader) to 2007. Last season she finished with 26 goals and 12 assists giving her a career total of 83 goals and 29 assists with one year of eligibility remaining.

She was named to the SCISA All- State Soccer Team in 2007 and was All - Region in 2007, 2006, and 2005. She plays forwad and midfielder for the Falcons.
