St. John Neumann Catholic School's second graders help Marines raise Toys for Tots

Photos and story contributed by St. John Neumann Catholic School

Each year the children of the St. John Neumann Catholic School family are taught about the true meaning of giving. They learn there are many children in their local community who are less fortunate than they are.

As a part of their dedication to providing service to their community, the second grade students of St. John Neumann participated in the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

The students did not hesitate to fill the boxes that lined the halls of the school with brand new toys.

For several years, the Marines have commented on the generosity of the students. This year the school surpassed all other totals by collecting 89 bags and four boxes of toys, including two bicycles!

To reward the students' generosity, Mrs. Cole granted the school two extra days off during the Christmas break.
