A. C. Moore students honor veterans

Darren Evers and Emily Evers Darren Evers and Emily Evers Friday, November 9, was a day of pride at A.C.Moore Elementary. The school turned out for a Veterans Day celebration led by the fourth grade. Their honored guests were veterans and active military personnel.

Most of the military guests were fathers, grandfathers, or uncles of students at A.C.Moore. The students furnished photos of their honored relatives, which were shown in a slide show during the musical numbers on the program.

Music Teacher Mary Ann Tillman organized the Veterans Day observance with her fourth- grade chorus. Each branch of the service was recognized with song, and students Katherine Thordahl, Anna Rayfield, and Zakya Douglas sang solos.

A unit of cadets from the A.C.Flora High School ROTC presented the colors. Randall Clamp, art teacher, and Dr. Chantelle Baker- Parnell, principal assisted Tillman in presenting the program.
