I had the pleasure of meeting with the children's book illustrator, E.B. Lewis, at Heathwood. For most people, swimming ends when summer ends, but for Bill and Margaret Flatt, swimming is a year- round event. Both swim on the A.C. Flora High School swim team and together helped the swim team place in the State Championships last year. More ... The National Association for the Education of Young Children recently reaccredited Columbia Jewish Day School (CJDS). To earn the new accreditation, CJDS had to satisfy 400 accreditation criteria. CJDS is one of only three schools in SC to attain the new accreditation, and the first school in the Midlands area to receive it. More ... After reading Charley's Columbia Backyard and considering setting a goal to earn my Junior Ambassador medal like the main character "Charley," I thought, "What a challenge to be able to complete all the requirements!" I put my plan into action, and with my parents' help driving me to a lot of places in Columbia, I finally completed Charley's Checklist. It took time to map out a route, but it was fun! More ... |
