Lower Richland Ruritan Club honors two
The Lower Richland Ruritan Club presented commemorative plaques and gift baskets to Lower Richland graduates Miesha Walton and Adriana Creech for their heroic efforts on June 25, 2007. The two ladies unselfishly saved over 21 lives by alerting residents of a deadly fire at Elmtree Georgetown Square Apartments. Lower Richland Ruritans, Columbia Deputy Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins, and the LR Community honored these courageous young ladies at the LR Ruritan monthly meeting and dinner Tuesday, August 7, 2007. Local businesses that donated items for the gift baskets were Simply Savory Fine Wines & Gourmet Foods, Lizard's Thicket, Kathy's Nails, Big Lots, Egg Roll Chen, Big T's BarBQue, and Bed Bath and Beyond. The parents of these girls should also be commended for raising such conscientious children. The LR community wishes the girls the best for their future. Miesha Walton will attend Clemson in the fall and Adriana Creech will be joining the military.
