      Columbia Riding Academy students of Hamilton Stables in Eastover participated in the 14th Annual Blue Ridge Classic Horse Show, July 24- 28, 2007. The show held in Asheville, N.C. drew riders from all across the U.S.

Grants available for environmental awareness

      The Lowcountry Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council Youth Environmental Education Grant Program was created to encourage and enhance natural resources education for South Carolina's young adults. The Lowcountry RC&D Council plans to award grants up to $2,000 to promote, enhance, or assist with environmental education programs for youth.

Lower Richland Ruritan Club honors two
      The Lower Richland Ruritan Club presented commemorative plaques and gift baskets to Lower Richland graduates Miesha Walton and Adriana Creech for their heroic efforts on June 25, 2007. The two ladies unselfishly saved over 21 lives by alerting residents of a deadly fire at Elmtree Georgetown Square Apartments.
