Richland, Lexington, Irmo/Chapin playoff bound

Richland's Robbie Wilcox Richland's Robbie Wilcox The Richland Post 6 Pathfinders claimed their second straight American Legion League VIII championship and earned a number one seeding in the Upstate bracket of the American Legion S.C. state playoffs. The Pathfinders will open a best 3- of- 5 series at Dreher High School Field at Memorial Stadium on Monday, July 16, against League VI No. 3 seed Union. If the Pathfinders advance, they will face the winner of the Newberry or Rock Hill and Greenwood series.

Lexington Post 7 earned a number two seeding by winning 13 of their last 14 games including two wins against top- seeded Richland. Post 7 will open its series at home July 16 against League VI No. 2 seed Gaffney. This series winner will play the winner of the Lancaster and Easley series.

Irmo/Chapin got the final League VIII playoff spot in the American Legion S.C. state playoffs by finishing third. Irmo/ Chapin will open its series July 16 at undefeated and League VI number one seed Spartanburg. If the Irmo/ Chapin can pull the upset, it will face the winner of the Chester/Walhalla series.
