Carolina Children's Home goes back to school
Until August 15, Carolina Children's Home will be having its annual Back to School Drive fundraiser and supply collection. The Home needs to collect enough supplies to send more that 85 children to school.
Supplies or funds can be delivered to the Home's Administration Building, which is at the corner of Sunnyside Drive and Felix Road, between the hours of 9 am- 5 pm.
The children's supply list is long and includes:
• 2 inch 3- ring binders
• 3- hole punches
• sturdy high school student size backpacks
• calculators - regular, graphing and scientific
• composition notebooks
• compasses • dictionaries • erasers • folders with pockets • markers • glue • graph paper
• highlighters
• college- ruled loose leaf paper
• mechanical pencils • #2 pencils • colored pencils • pencil cases
• pencil sharpeners
• pens (blue or black ink)
• protractors • report covers • rulers • spiral notebooks
• and White- Out.
The Home's residents are typically between the ages 14 and 17 and either go to local Richland One schools or attend school on campus at the Carolina Children's Home clinical day (alternative education) program.
