      The Richland Post 6 Pathfinders claimed their second straight American Legion League VIII championship and earned a number one seeding in the Upstate bracket of the American Legion S.C. state playoffs. The Pathfinders will open a best 3- of- 5 series at Dreher High School Field at Memorial Stadium on Monday, July 16, against League VI No. 3 seed Union.

American Legion S.C. Upper State Playoff Bracket
      Notes 1) Higher seeds always have home field advantage. 2) For fourth team: Three losing teams from the second round will be seeded and play a one game out. Seed 2 plays Seed 3 and the winner of that plays Seed 1 for the fourth Upstate spot in the state championship. This applies if the host team wins a berth. No play- off is needed if the host team does not win a berth.

Florida gets the Blues

      The Blythewood Blues, 13U AAU team, will take their first stab at the USSSA World Series title coming up July 15- 21 in Pensacola, Florida. The team just started playing together about this time last year, and won several tournaments on the way to a shot at a world title.
