Parental intelligence varies with age
      Some wonder why teenage kids often believe their parents are (to put it nicely) slightly less than intelligent. My kids aren't in their teens yet, but I can speak from experience when I say that teenagers think their parents are a couple cards shy of a full deck, because those teenagers have no reason to think otherwise.

The Nightmare
It's not a criticism, it's an observation.
      I know better, I really do. My insides are too old to eat a spicy dinner, dessert, a couple of drinks, then graze from the fridge just before bedtime. The midnight scramble for Tums signaled a long and uncomfortable night. I had a nightmare around three. I was myself, living among familiar people and places, but everything was crazy. A real Bizarro World.
