The 2008 Project Pet Calendar Contest has begun!
Dust off your digital camera and get ready to make Fluffy a pin- up
calendar babe! It's time to register your favorite furry friend for the
2008 Precious Pet Calendar Contest.
Project Pet is a non- profit animal rescue organization based right here
in Columbia that works hard to rescue dogs and cats from local
municipal animal shelters. Did you know that in just two shelters in
the Midlands over 19,000 dogs and cats are put to death every year? Project Pet is working hard to reduce euthanasia rates by implementing aggressive spay/neuter programs and rescuing adoptable animals
from death row every day. Project Pet prepares all animals for
adoption and places them in permanent loving homes.
All their animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and
microchipped.
The Calendar Contest is a fun way for you to get involved. Any living
pet of any type can be registered as a contestant in the contest.
Registration is just $15 and votes are only $1 each. The 12 animals with the most votes at the end of the contest are given a complimentary
professional photo shoot with digital photo album and appear in the pages of the annual Project Pet calendar. All proceeds from this
contest go directly to the Organization's life- saving efforts.
Previous winners have been known to get everyone involved from
grandparents and cousins to friends and neighbors - even setting up
donation jars at stores and work for their favorite pet.
If you would like to get involved and help Project Pet in their life- saving
efforts go to www.projectpet.com to enter the contest or make a general donation. To contact Project Pet directly call (803) 407-0991 or
email petinfo@projectpet.com.
