     The 11th Annual Columbia Midlands Soap Box Derby was held on Taylor Street June 9. The awards banquet was held in First Baptist Church Saturday evening. Birds on a Wire Restaurant and Veta Holloway of Birds by Veta provided water and snacks.

      Cayce's Derrick Raybon hit two homeruns and drove in six runs, but it was not enough as Columbia NE countered with two homeruns of their own to defeat Cayce 11- 8. Jake Mendiola went three for four for Columbia NE including a two- run blast over the center field fence in the 8th inning that tied the score at 8- 8.
