Fifty- seven students were selected to have their work published by the Richland County Public Library in Kids in Print, a collection of stories, poems and art.

The students featured in this year's edition of Kids in Print include Imani Ross- Jackson, A. C. Thirteen- year- old Lester Lawson's "The Lion" graces the cover of the 2007 edition of Kids In Print. " Kids in Print is a launching point for some of tomorrow's great writers and artists," said Ginger Shuler, chief of youth services at RCPL. "The publication offers local youth a unique opportunity to share their talents and have their work added to the library's permanent collection."

For the first time this year, each artist or writer was recognized at Kids In Print: Authors, Artists and Awards, a special program that featured author Joyce Hansen, and a book signing for the contributing artists and writers on May 12 at the Main Library.

Each contributor and their school received a copy of the 2007 publication, and additional copies of Kids in Print were added to the RCPL collection in the hope of inspiring future generations of South Carolina artists and writers.
