Ms. Patricia Berne Mizell and Mr. Melvin Hayes Mizell announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Devault Mizell, to Garvin Glenn McLaughlin.

The bride- elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. William Earl Berne and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Mizell of Anderson, South Carolina. The bride- elect graduated from Dreher High School and Columbia College with a BA in elementary education. The bride- elect teaches at Memminger Elementary School in Charleston.

The bridegroom- elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul McLaughlin. He graduated from high school in Richmond, Virginia. He attended the University of South Carolina and is currently pursuing a nursing degree at Trident Tech in Charleston, South Carolina.

An early June wedding is planned in Charleston.
