      Dennis W. Shedd, native of Cordova, S.C., is a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He talked to the Columbia Rotary Club immediately after HUD Deputy Secretary Bernardi. He was introduced by Jon Keith as a fair, faithful, and funny family man.

Frank Brunson, mayor of Forest Acres
      Frank Brunson, a politician since junior high school, is running again for mayor of Forest Acres. Brunson's first run for mayor, four years ago, pulled 81% of the vote. This time, there is no opposition. Brunson was born at Columbia Hospital at the corner of Hampton and Harden.

      Hedge funds, cont'd. Three years ago, managers of the top 25 hedge funds earned about $250 million each. Two years ago, they brought home close to $350 million each. Last year, managers of the top 25 hedge funds earned a total of $15 billion, which is about $600 million each.

Warden wins $510,000 verdict
      A Federal jury late Friday evening returned a $510, 000 verdict in favor of Calvin Anthony, a former warden of one of the state's largest and top security prisons (Lee Correctional Institution) against the agency's No. 2 administrator Robert Ward and its former Inspector General, Charles Sheppard. Anthony resides in Sumter.
