Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church held its third annual scholarship golf tournament at Fort Jackson Golf Club Monday, April 16. Sixty players from Columbia, S.C.; Ga.; and N.C. participated in the modified captain's choice tournament.
Prizes were given for first through third place, longest drive, and closest to the pin. A silent auction and a BBQ dinner followed the tournament.
The first place team, with a score of 14 under, was sponsored by Cedar Terrace Hardware. Team members were Ty McAlister, Adam Hill, Keith Chichester, and Kim Cozdras.
Profits from the tournament will be awarded as college scholarships to the Asbury Memorial UMC youth.
Asbury Memorial UMC's Rev. "Big Ed" McWilliams gives last minute instructions and a prayer for the golfers. |
