Sertoma Clubs honor their own

      Jack K. Sterne Sr. has been named Sertoman of the Year for the Wade Hampton District of Sertoma International for 2006-2007. The district includes a dozen Sertoma clubs in the central South Carolina area. To be considered for Sertoman of the Year for the District, Sterne earlier was chosen Sertoman of the Year for the Richland Sertoma Club, his home club.

Miss Ellison and Mr. Hardin marry in Trinity Cathedral
      Eleanor VanBenthuysen Ellison and Harry Simms Hardin IV were married April 14, 2007, at 6:30 pm in Trinity Cathedral. The Very Rev. Philip Conrad Linder performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hagood Ellison Jr. she is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marshall Kibler and Mr. James Hagood Ellison and the late Mrs. Ellison.

      Richland Sertoma Club recently recognized Joseph P. Arnot with the Service to Mankind award for his many volunteer contributions to the Columbia community. Currently, he is a reserve deputy sheriff with Richland County Sheriff's Department, giving countless hours to help keep the community safe.

AKA holds Pink Ice Gala
      Gamma Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority hosted its 25th Pink Ice Gala January 26, 2007, at the Cantey Building on the S.C. State Fairgrounds. Tree of Life celebrates Sisterhood Centennial

      The Tree of Life Congregation's Sisterhood will celebrate its centennial April 27 with a special Friday evening Shabbat Service. Organized in 1905, the Sisterhood has provided critical support for the Congregation throughout its history, spearheaded the congregation's religious school, and provided important interfaith programs and services.
