Blythewood names Shaw as new coach

The Richland School District Two Board has approved the selection of Reggie Shaw as the next head football coach at Blythewood High School.
Shaw comes to Blythewood after serving one year as an assistant coach at James F. Byrnes High School in Duncan, S.C. Before then, Shaw was an assistant coach at Fairfield Central. During his ten- year coaching career at Fairfield Central, the Griffins won two state championships (1996, 1997) and five region championships. Shaw's football responsibilities at Fairfield Central included offensive and defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. He served as the head strength and conditioning coach, and head track coach as well.
Shaw will teach science at Blythewood. He was nominated for the Disney National Teacher of the Year award in 2006 and was honored as the 2003 Fairfield County District Teacher of the Year.
