The Ariail Chapter of the Columbia college Alumnae Club met for its regular scheduled meeting Thursday, Feb. 8 at Alumnae Hall on the college campus.

The Ariail Alumnae Club and the Columbia College Alumnae Association designated the meeting a special event to honor the past Presidents of the evening, afternoon, and Ariail Chapters of the Columbia College Alumnae Club.

Members and invited guests gathered in the parlor of Alumnae Hall from 10:30 to 11:30 am for refreshments, visiting, and sharing information about the college. The Transformational Gifts staff as well as staff members of the Alumnae Affairs office joined the past presidents and regular members of the Ariail Chapter for the occasion. A special guest was the beloved Rev. Dr. R. Wright Spears, who served as Columbia College's 12th president from 1951 until his retirement in 1977. twenty- one past presidents are pictured with Dr. Spears.

Jewell Powell Hill ('60), Sara Cook Andrews ('51), Frances "Frankie" Ellis Newman ('49), Thelma Rast ('45), and Ferrell Gibbons Crowley ('49) served as hostesses for the occasion.

The next meeting of the Ariail Club is scheduled for April 14, 2007.
