Ghost Riders
      On Saturday Feb. 24 my friend, Coleman, and I went to see the film Ghost Rider at Carmike Wynnsong Cinemas. This is another movie based on a Marvel comic book series. The story begins at a circus where a young Johnny Blaze and his father are performing a motorcycle daredevil show. They jump over cars and through a ring of fire.

Explorers hike Wateree Passage
      Members of the Greater Piedmont Chapter of the Explorers Club continue their goal to hike the entire 425- mile Palmetto Trail. On Feb. 10, they trekked the Wateree Passage, a 7.2 mile span near Poinsett State Park.

      What is old is new again, in fashion and in plants. This spring, garden centers are featuring an old- fashioned evergreen perennial, candytuft, Iberis sempervirens. Candytuft is a low growing subshrub used in rock gardens, containers, a groundcover, or miniature hedge to enclose annuals. The height is 6- 12 inches and the spread reaches 1- 2 feet.

No S.C. honeybees reported lost to mystery disorder
      No honey bee colonies in S.C. have yet been reported lost due to a developing honey bee mystery disorder. However, the state isn't out of the woods, according to Mike Hood, Clemson Extension bee specialist. "It is not known what is causing the problem, but so far we haven't had any reports of major colony losses by S.C. beekeepers," Hood said.
