Four daughters are presented at The South Carolina Debutante Ball December 21, 2006

Elizabeth Welch Goodall The twenty–fifth anniversary of The South Carolina Debutante Ball was held on Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Forest Lake Club with the presentation of four daughters.

Receiving guests at a reception prior to the Ball were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Patrick Cutler, chairman of the board; Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Seer Owings Jr., president of the Ball; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Charles Scott, president–elect and chairman of the Ball; the debutante daughters and their fathers. The presentation of the debutantes by their fathers with introductions by the Ball chairman was followed by the debutante figure led by Miss Elizabeth Welch Goodall.

Debutante daughters making their bows were Miss Elizabeth Welch Goodall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Christian Goodall, escorted by Mr. David Barrington Holladay; Miss Paige Staire Hymson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis Hymson, escorted by Mr. Nelson Edings Seabrook; Miss Margaret Elizabeth Moorhead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Roscoe Moorhead III, escorted by Mr. Paul Baxter Rodgers IV; and Miss Margaret Rutherford Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Gavin Ward Jr., escorted by Mr. William Carey Crantford. The debutante daughters each carried a bouquet of twelve Red Freedom roses with Italian ruscus and salal wrapped with cream double–faced satin ribbon.

Mr. Ashley, son of members Dr. and Mrs. James Park Ashley, was attending the Ball for the first time.

Margaret Elizabeth Moorhead Post debutantes present at the Ball were Miss Emily Marshall Collins, escorted by Mr. Creston William Brown; Miss Jane Eleanor Elliott, escorted by Mr. Joseph Patrick Grunewald; Miss Caroline Locke Ellzey, escorted by Mr. Larkin Barmore Ellzey; and Miss Katherine Powell McKinney, escorted by Mr. John Gilchrist Griffin.

Margaret Rutherford Ward Following the presentation and debutante figure, the members, debutantes, and guests dined and danced to the music of the Ross Holmes Band.

Seated at the head table were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Patrick Cutler, chairman of the board; Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Seer Owings Jr., president of the Ball; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Charles Scott, president–elect and chairman of the Ball; and Mr. and Mrs. David Christian Goodall, co–chairman of the Ball. After dinner, coffee was served in the foyer.

Other officers of the Ball are Mr. and Mrs. William Deaderick Snyder, secretary, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Michael McCabe, treasurer.
