Contributed by Zig the Pig The tree lighting was accompanied by the Columbia Chorale Society, who lifted holiday spirits with great Christmas classics. Kids came early to hang their ornaments on the Christmas tree and to decorate cookies while visiting with Santa and Zig the Pig. Thanks to the Shandon Firemen who went to special lengths to help decorate the tree and to George Fisher at Strobler’s, Perry Lancaster at Britton’s, and to Daniel Rickenmann, city Councilman, for making the evening so special for Zig the Pig. The silent auction was a great success and to top it off, Strobler’s Home Furnishings also donated 5% of sales that evening to Zig. Merry Christmas!! Zig the Pig promotes pediatric cancer awareness and education, teaches children to give back to their communities, and funds non–medical, direct needs for families facing this devastating disease.
