The Forest Acres Restaurant and Merchants Association (FARMA) has declared its first Rooftop Rhythms Concert Series a great success.

Rooftop Rhythms took place this fall on the roof of Midtown at Forest Acres (formerly Richland Fashion Mall). Bands included Elliott and the Untouchables, Calvin and Friends, J'Ouvert and the Black Bottom Biscuits.

"We want to thank everyone who supported Rooftop Rhythms," said FARMA Vice President Eddie Wales. "The concerts drew an average of 300 to 400 people per week, with a nice mix of families, young professionals, and older Forest Acres residents. This proved to be a great event for music lovers of all ages."

Through the sale of concessions, the concerts raised more than $1,000 for the City of Forest Acres' Defibrillator Fund.

With the success of the fall concerts, FARMA plans to hold another Rooftop Rhythms Concert Series in the spring of 2007. Rooftop Rhythms is made possible thanks to a hospitality funds grant from the City of Forest Acres.
