Miss Wilson and Mr. Chocklett exhange vows June 16, 2006
Dorothy Kelly Wilson of Columbia and James Bowman Chocklett of Mauldin, South Carolina, were married Friday, June 16, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Timothy Tebalt and Rev. John Yost performed the 6:30 pm ceremony.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Edward Wilson, is the granddaughter of Mrs. Dorothy Kelly Johnson and the late Jack Johnson, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson Cook of Chester, South Carolina, and the late Mrs. Maggie Jewell Wilson. The bride is a graduate of Cardinal Newman School and Newberry College with a BS degree in elementary education. She is employed by Newberry County Schools at Gallman Elementary.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lee Chocklett of Mauldin, is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Leonard Bass and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edward Chocklett all of Wilson, North Carolina. The bridegroom is a graduate of Mauldin High School and Newberry College with a BS degree in chemistry. He will be continuing graduate studies at the University of South Carolina.
The bride wore a formal gown in ivory silk satin. The sleeveless gown designed with a V neckline was accented with layers of organza and satin at the dropped waistline that flowed into an A-line skirt enhanced with the same effect at the hemline. Covered buttons accented the back of the semi cathedral train. The bride wore her mother's cathedral length veil that was embellished with alenon lace trim.
The matron of honor was Elizabeth Wilson deTreville, sister of the bride. The maid of honor was Kristin Anne Caughman. The bridesmaids were Margaret Colvin Wilson and Jane Owens Wilson, sisters of the bride; and Jennifer Ann Williams. The junior bridesmaids were Kelly Elizabeth Davis, cousin of the bride; and Brittni Layle Haycraft. The ring bearers were James August Smalley and Spencer Vaughn Smalley.
Samuel Wyatt Chocklett, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Paul Blake deTreville, brother-in-law of the bride; Brian Patrick Joyce; Jonas Edward Nix; and James Matthew Wessinger. The ushers were George Bellinger Davis II and William Bowen Hough, cousins of the bride; John McCabe Asay Jr.; and Bryan Dale Wappes.
The reader was Ainsley Clark McCabe. The greeters were Megan Quinn Caughman and Ashley Elizabeth Lidikay.
A reception at Forest Lake Club followed the ceremony.
After a honeymoon to Walt Disney World, the couple will reside in Newberry, South Carolina.
