Richland One board approves appointments

The Richland One Board of School Commissioners approved several administrative appointments for the 2006-07 school year during its regularly scheduled meeting June 13 at the Stevenson Administrative Building:

+Dr. Wanda Whatley, an assistant superintendent in the Berkeley County School District, was named executive director of curriculum and instruction.

+Donna Huger, head guidance counselor at Lower Richland High School, was named the district's coordinator of guidance and counseling services.

+Connie Alley, a curriculum coordinator with the Union County (N.C.) Public Schools, was named principal of Satchel Ford Elementary School.

+Alvin Pressley, dean of academics at W.J. Keenan High School, was named an assistant principal at Lower Richland High.

+David Jackson was named an assistant principal at Horrell Hill Elementary School, where he is currently an administrative intern.

+Anthony Boatwright was named an assistant principal at Crayton Middle School, where he is currently a teacher on special assignment.

The administrative appointments are effective July 1, 2006.
