A 12-year-old boy from West Columbia, SC spent Saturday, April 29, on a shopping extravaganza with his family at three of his favorite stores in the area.

Jeremy Tarte was diagnosed in December 1994 with cystic fibrosis. Since that time, he has been receiving treatments for his illness, yet he has remained a very upbeat and tender hearted young man. Jeremy's interests include playing video games, basketball, collecting Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and learning about animals, especially tigers.

To help take Jeremy's mind off of his battle with cystic fibrosis, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Atlanta, Ga. sent him on an all day shopping spree that allowed him to purchase many of his dream tangibles.

Children's Wish Foundation International began working with Jeremy and his family to create a day that he would be sure to remember. Jeremy's day began with a chauffeured limousine picking him up at 1 pm and whisking him away to his first destination, Toys-R-Us.

After spending about an hour shopping for toys and games of his liking, Jeremy was met out front by the limousine, and was then taken to his second stop, Wal-Mart. Jeremy then arrived at his final shopping destination, Best Buy. Jeremy allotted most of his funds to his favorite electronics store, as he had his eye on many different types of equipment. To end the day, Jeremy, his mother, and his child life specialist, had a nice steak dinner at a local Long Horn near the hospital where Jeremy has been staying to receive treatments.

Jeremy's shopping spree wish was made possible thanks to Children's Wish Foundation International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting seriously and terminally ill children throughout the world.
