Calling all BBQ lovers!

Join Carolina Children's Home for their 19th Annual BBQ Cook-Off Festival at the SC State Fairgrounds, Gate 11 on May 19 and 20, 2006. On Friday night, "Save the Pigs" is an anything but pork event! For $8 a ticket or two for $15, enjoy music by the Sensational Epics and taste-test over 40 Southern specialties prepared by cooking teams from across the region. Food is served from 7-10 pm.

On Saturday, join the Home from 11 am-3 pm as the judges decide on this year's BBQ champions. BBQ plates are $8 at the door or $7 if purchased in advance, and kids 11 and under eat for $3.

Enjoy performances by the Saxe Gotha Kid's Praise Team and local dance groups. Meet Blaze, the Chick-Fil-A Cow, and other mascots. Have fun climbing in the Mega Obstacle Course and other air inflatables. Get your face painted; create a "Hog Hat," and enjoy much more family fun. Kid's Area tickets are $8 each and include unlimited turns in the inflatables and more.

In operation since 1909, Carolina Children's Home is one of the largest and most comprehensive residential treatment facilities in SC for abused, abandoned, and neglected children. A private non-profit, the Home offers five levels of care including counseling and therapeutic services that are centered on the needs of its resident children. In the last three years, the Home has served more than 800 children from throughout SC who were the tragic victims of abuse and neglect and provided them with a safe, nurturing place in which to live and grow.
