On April 29, 2006, Crayton Middle School's entry at the state level of National History Day won a tough competition in the group documentary classification. (Sitting) Walker Stinnette, Allison Day, , and Brennan Baylis. (Standing) Meredith Nix and MacKenzie Sunday researched, wrote, and produced a documentary entitled Burning of Columbia: Sherman Takes a Stand to End this War . The group will represent SC at the national competition in June at the University of Maryland in College Park Maryland.
