Richland One Board approves administrative appointments

The Richland One Board of School Commissioners approved several administrative appointments for the 2006-07 school year during its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night at Dreher High School:
+ Deborah R. Mathews , currently superintendent of Dorchester County School District Four, will be Richland One's chief education officer.
+ Marvin Byers , principal at Edisto High School in Orangeburg Four, was named principal at Lower Richland High School. Byers, who previously worked in Richland One as a middle-school and high school principal, will succeed LR Principal Leevette Malloy, who is leaving the district.
+ Dr. Richard McClure , principal at James F. Byrnes High School in Spartanburg Five, will be the new principal at AC Flora High School.
+ Kathie Greer , currently principal at AC Flora, will be principal at Richland One's CA Johnson Preparatory Academy next year.
+ Susan Childs , an assistant principal at Crayton Middle School, will be principal at Crayton next year. Principal Virginia Lacy is retiring.
+ Goler Collins III , an assistant principal at E.L. Wright Middle School in Richland Two, will be principal at Hopkins Middle School. Roy Holloway has served as interim principal at Hopkins Middle this year.
+ Karis Mazyck , a sixth grade science teacher at Hand Middle School, was appointed as an assistant principal at Hand.
Also at Tuesday night's board meeting, Richland One Superintendent Dr. Allen Coles announced the following administrative transfers:
+Area 2 Superintendent Dr. Diane James will be the principal at Arden Elementary School. She will succeed Dr. Eugene George, who is retiring.
+ Traci Young Cooper , an assistant principal at Alcorn Middle School, will be the district's director of intervention programs.
