Local Explorers hit national TV
John Hodge, Dr. Bob Seigler, and Dr. Bill Vartorella, leaders of the Lake Murray B-25 Rescue Project appear on the History Channel.
"You are at a Hollywood premier!" shouted John Hodge over the cheers of 50 fans at the Flight Deck in Lexington Tuesday night. "Congratulations and thanks for all your help getting that plane out of Lake Murray."
Ted Stambolitis, owner of the Flight Deck, had made special arrangements for the Lake Murray B-25 Rescue Team to view the first showing of the History Channel's movie of their expedition last September. Celebrities present for the event were Dr. Bob Seigler (team leader), his wife Patti and children, Carrie and Robert, of Greenville; Dr. Bill Vartorella (team promoter) and Joanna Craig of Camden; and John Hodge (team attorney), his wife Sharon, and his sons, John and David.
After 62 years at the bottom of Lake Murray, the WWII B-25 sees the light of day. This was shown on the History Channel's Movers show May 2. |
