Governor Mark Sanford has appointed Rebecca Patrick of Rogers Townsend & Thomas, P.C., to the South Carolina Crime Victim's Advisory Board.

The Epilepsy Foundation of South Carolina has honored Charlie and Joanne Cole as the inaugural King and Queen of Mardi Gras in South Carolina.

Roosevelt Green was honored by UPS for completing 35 years of service with the company. Green resides in Columbia.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will receive a contribution of $165,000 from English McCutchen of McCutchen Blanton Johnson & Barnette, LLP.

Lin Ko , St. Andrews regional branch manager for Richland County Public Library, was named International Professional of the Year at the Columbia International Gala on March 23.

Dr. Tangali Sudarshan , professor of electrical engineering in the College of Engineering and Information Technology at USC, received the Michael J. Mungo Distinguished Professor of the Year Award. The Michael J. Mungo Graduate Teaching Award was presented to Dr. Manoj Malhotra of the Moore School of Business. In addition three other USC faculty members were presented with the Michael J. Mungo Undergraduate Teaching award in recognition of outstanding teaching. The recipients were Dr. Joanne Herman , College of Nursing; Dr. Julie Hubbert , School of Music; and Dr. Charles Pierce , Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Farrah Gray , author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, will received the Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Allen University on April 29. He will be the youngest American to receive an honorary doctorate.

Katherine Cliatt , state supervisor of business, marketing, and information technology education at the South Carolina State Department of Education, is the recipient of the 2006 National Business Education Association (NBEA) Supervisor of the Year Award for Distinguished Service to Business Education in South Carolina and the nation.

Managing Partner Martin S. Driggers Jr . of Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow, P.A., has been certified by South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster's office as a pro bono special prosecutor of criminal domestic violence cases in Lee, Florence, Darlington, Marlboro, and Chesterfield counties.
