Blue Devils declaw Bearcats

The Bearcats entered the game with a 5-0 region record and had soundly beaten Dreher 16-2 back on March 10. BC ace pitcher Derrick Raybon was taking the mound with a 2.42 ERA and 37 strike-outs to his credit, and the game was at BC where the Bearcats were 3-1.
But somebody forgot to tell the Blue Devils they were supposed to lose this game. Case Stiglbauer pitched a two-hit masterpiece and Dreher survived a seventh inning comeback attempt by the Bearcats to avenge the earlier loss and beat BC 3-2.
The Blue Devils scored a run in each of the first three innings. Justin Strauss scored on a Bearcat throwing error in the first inning. Brian Dreher crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the second and hit a sacrifice fly that scored Ben Galloway in the third.
The Bearcats did not get on the board until the third inning when Justin Lee scored from third on a sacrifice fly from Curtis Murphy.
Neither team could muster any offense until the bottom of the seventh inning when Bearcat Jacob Oren started a one-out rally with a bloop single that catcher Kirk Sims tried but could not make a play on. ToNel Legette then drew a walk.
Dreher head coach Pete Guyton then pulled pitcher Case Stiglbauer for Robbie Wilcox. BC head coach Brian Hucks countered by sending lefty Zack Hicks in to pitch hit. Hicks promptly drilled a ground ball down the third base line all the way to the fence scoring pinch runner Nathan Creazzo. With runners at second and third, Wilcox intentionally walked Justin Lee to load the bases.
Caleb White then flew out to center field leaving the bases loaded. Curtis Murphy stepped to the plate as the Bearcats last hope, but Wilcox threw three straight strikes and the Blue Devils walked away with the victory.
