WWII veterans visit Forest Lake Elementary School

Stacks of letters are being mailed from Forest Lake Elementary fifth graders to the WWII veterans who recently visited their school. The students and panel of distinguished WWII veterans had a question and answer session about the war that helped bring the pages of history to life.

Young students like Joshua Ross expressed heartfelt feelings of gratitude in their correspondence.

Dear Mr. Campbell,

Thank you for coming to tell us about the trials and pain of World War II. Your story showed me that people go through some really hard times so that I could be free and have rights. Thank you for doing that for me. Some details I saw about you were that you could speak loud and that you are benevolent. Thank you for coming.
